Get Ready For Take Off!

More than a year ago, when the world shut down, many of us were forced to pivot, evolve and adapt to a new “normal,” and that can be either scary or exciting!

As an educator in the beauty industry, for the first time in more than 30 years, I found myself in the extremely uncomfortable position of having to reset my objective and action-plan in order to continue to deliver high-level education. With no clear vision of how I could adapt to a new business reality or what it would look like, I knew that I’d need to quickly adapt to technology trends if I were to remain relevant and in the game.

But, the prospect of such drastic change was enough for me to put off even getting started!

Embarking on a new chapter without knowing when (or if) things might ever return to the way they once were pushes us to consider how we might need to refocus or re-calibrate our existing business strategy. The truth is that change encourages us to move forward in our lives and careers and experience new things while also challenging us to actively work on evolving and adapting.

At first it seemed impossible to shift from my familiar in-person teaching routine to an entirely new and online format. But, with guidance and direction from a passionate and talented team of digital superstars, I was able to reach the finish line and come away with new and innovative learning platform.

Being open to change, learning new skills or working on your inner self can bring about changes that you never knew were possible. Pivoting and adapting to the newest technology has undoubtedly helped me to create opportunities that I wouldn’t have been able to create (or implement) without a world event forcing me to restructure my approach. I learned that there are so many ways of delivering information in order to create impact and stay relevant, which is imminent in our culture.

Here are some key tips I followed to create and relaunch my business format:

🔎 DEFINE YOUR OBJECTIVE

The objective surrounding your product or service should be defined as clearly as possible. This may take a while but it is worth the exercise. It should be measurable, ambitious, realistic and time-defined.

🔎 ESTABLISH A PLAN OF ACTION

Once you’ve defined your objective and you feel confident you can reach your goals within your allotted budget, you should develop your action plan by prioritizing with milestones and prioritize the accompanying tasks to reach them. Tis is the only way you can stay organized and track toward the accomplishment of your final goal. By combining collective skill-sets with a team ( if you are able to) will help you deliver a strong product or service making sure no task gets forgotten. This means ranking the tasks by their importance and urgency

🔎 SET A BUDGET

Determine the financial allowance for your project.Unless you have unlimited financial resources, decide which tasks are the most important and which you are able to do yourself in order to preserve the budget.

🔎 IDENTIFY POTENTIAL RISKS

Since there is always a risk associated with building something new, try and identify them in advance and as you move through the project. Arrange the risks in order of importance according to their impact and probability of occurrence,

🔎 CHOOSE A DREAM TEAM

It is unrealistic to think you can do it all yourself. You will need help. Surround yourself with competent collaborators experienced in different fields and make sure they have the ability and management skills needed to tn needed to bring your vision to the finsihh line. It is always a good idea to define the roles and responsibilities in order for the team to function well,

🔎COLLABORATION IS KEY!

Empowering the team and making sure everyone gets along well is your priority if you want to leverage the team and reach the finish line smoothly. A solid team will collaborate and stick together, even you hit some bumps along the way during hard times.
