Do you believe that everything good that happens in your life is a stroke of luck or a result of manifesting positive outcomes?
TikTok is calling the newest trend “Lucky Girl Syndrome”, a state of being in which everything falls into your lap. All you need to do is believe that good things will happen and this positive outlook will attract good luck into your life. Truth be told, the world is simply getting more in touch with a teaching that has been around for thousands of years.
I’ve come to understand that a lucky mindset is something that I’ve been accessing both consciously and unconsciously for most of my life.
Here are some life events that showcase my lucky mindset beginning at a very early age.
👉When I was eight, I guessed the correct amount of jelly beans at the local carnival. I remember feeling focused and confident as I calculated my number using my eye and intuition. There were 600 jelly beans in the jar. I calculated 560. I knew I was going to win, and I did. Isn’t it crazy how I remember this event as if it were yesterday? But what I didn’t know back then was that I accessing my lucky mindset.
My friends were convinced that I simply had a stroke of luck and perhaps you believe this to be true as well.
👉 When I was 15, I applied for the manager position at the town pool. I was a lifeguard the previous year. There were five qualified applicants who were more experienced than I was and my friends thought it would be a waste of time to apply, but I wanted the position. With fierce determination and dedication, I spent the next few weeks practicing CPR and building up my endurance in the pool while simultaneously imagining myself sitting in the pool manager's office, training lifeguards and greeting patrons with a smile. I wasn’t surprised when I got the job.
My family and friends thought I got lucky.
👉 In 2014, I was ready to transition from the salon chair to the corporate office. As a brand partner, I was invited to meet with the new CEO who explained that he was looking for a VP of Education to create programs for beauty pros and to run the newly built academy. He asked if we could meet for lunch so that I could share my salon insights and vision for education. I had no experience in corporate culture (yet). But, somehow I was convinced that this was the role for me and that I was the only choice. Everyday for the next two months, while still working behind the chair, I envisioned myself sitting in my new office at my beautiful desk with a new company computer writing academy curriculum and training and leading a team of educators. I imagined myself engaged in company board meetings and strategizing with the leadership team. I would meet with the new CEO five more times before he offered me the position. I was thrilled, but not surprised.
Once again, others thought I was lucky.
👉 In 2019, a week after our company was sold to Henkel for over 500 million dollars, I thought about moving to Florida. The very next day my next door neighbor asked if I’d be willing to sell my apartment so that he could accommodate his expanding family. He made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Then COVID hit and I thought the deal was off- it wasn’t. We moved to Florida in 2019 and bought a beautiful home on a marina. Two years later, the market skyrocketed and I had a feeling I could sell our home and be profitable. two weeks after listing it, we sold and moved into our new home this past January, 2023!
As a founding partner, I guess I just got lucky.
Lately, I smile when others share their beliefs with me about my luck in my career and in life. I guess it’s all just been a stroke of luck 😁. I can only assume that they still aren’t aware of the lucky mindset, even though they have witnessed my outcomes for so many years now. Simply put, when mind, matter and spirit work in conjunction, the seeds of success are in play and your desires are filled quickly, and with minimal effort. When you set your awareness and intention and truly believe that you’ve found the right place or moment where you are able to apply your talents and strengths, the stars align for your success because you are the one who has lined them up that way. It begins with tuning out the chatter (friends and family) and tapping into your unlimited potential. That’s the essence of a lucky mindset,
…whereas luck is a concept invented and used by those who have not yet discovered the incredible power of living in alignment.
