Stand Out & Stand For Something

Build a social mission into the core of your business

Hey Beauty Pro,

DID YOU KNOW?

When you stand out and stand for something other than just profit, your social good initiatives foster a thriving work environment built on mutual trust and loyalty.

Early in my career I realized that there’s a learning curve to success. I made many mistakes along the way and learned some valuable lessons too. And while there are too many to list here, the one that stands out the most was how building a social mission into the core of your business creates a ripple effect of positive change.

👉build a social mission

The idea of adding “social capital” to your business is an approach that many companies use because it not only enhances your relationships, but it elevates your passion and purpose and has the potential to exponentially grow your business.

  • WHAT IS SOCIAL CAPITAL?

Think of it as a network of relationships and interactions which allows you to function more effectively and harmoniously in order to achieve a common goal.

When you implement a social mission into the core of your business, you have the power to bring people together beyond just skilled services and products. When I was a salon partner, the goal was to offer our products and services with an approach that fostered meaningful connections and remarkable experiences. And, in doing so we noticed increased levels of trust, loyalty and retention at the workplace in addition to happier and more productive team members.

  • CAPITALISM + SOCIAL CAPITALISM

This combination means that you value your clients as much as you value your profit potential.

As long as the ends are ethically based, the outcome is an empowered culture that fosters meaningful relationships, increased sales, customer loyalty and employee engagement. Making a commitment to meaningfully contribute through social good initiatives creates a ripple effect of positive change. It’s a win-win! In fact, many of you may not even realize that your are already building social capital!

  • THE BENEFITS

💡Customers …feel like they make a difference when they purchase from your company while enjoying the benefits of healthy more fashionable hair

💡Employees …understand how a salon professional could cosmetically and psychologically transform self-images and destinies of clients with natural texture

💡Stakeholders/partners … feel empowered supporting and promoting high-performing products with philosophies and techniques they believe in

💡Teams… are happier because their work is more meaningful

Did you know?

As long as the ends are ethically based, the outcome of being a capitalist + social capitalist is an empowered culture. As a beauty pro, when you are able to offer innovative products and/or services and positively impact your clients, you’ve successfully created social capital, and in my opinion, it’s the most important factor to your company’s success.

Over the years I have noticed how things continue to abundantly come back to those who give more. At least this was the case for us. When you give more, it evokes gratitude and elevates the social connection to your clients and colleagues.

Social Capitalism

value your clients as much as you value your profits

When I was a partner at DevaCurl, we lived and breathed social capitalism through high performing products with transformational results along with our ability to connect more deeply with clients. Not only did we create meaningful relationships, we increased sales, loyalty and employee engagement.

Here are some other ways our salon team built social capitalism, and you can too!
