Do you celebrate the small WINS?

Greetings Beauty Pro!

If the pandemic has taught us anything, celebrating the small wins gives us a feeling of joy and pride in our accomplishments at the workplace. These moments, these small pleasures, matter enormously and can mean the difference between a good day or bad day for many beauty pros. They can also help you to keep working towards the next small steps, and eventually the overall BIG goals for your business.

Even when it feels like there is nothing to celebrate, there is something worth celebrating.

Take birthdays for example, some people love them, and some hate them. For me, birthdays symbolize a moment to reflect on the past year’s milestones and achievements. I’ll admit that while sometimes that can be difficult, seeking joy and finding reasons to celebrate also has the valuable business benefit of increasing workplace morale. If feasible, and depending on the size of your organization and team, you might consider using birthday celebrations as a reason to find out more about the people you work with – if they’re an art lover, this could perhaps be reflected in a themed cake. Not only does this make the recipient feel seen and appreciated,  it reminds everyone that their colleagues are people with lives and interests outside of work. Celebrating a birthday at work makes people feel appreciated and can actually bring your team together, both of of which help form deeper work relationships.

Here are some tips to help you think about the small and big wins worth celebrating:

📝 What you have achieved in the past year?

📝 Write down your accomplishments and your goals so that you can see where you are at and where you are headed.

📝 What do you want to do next, and how will you plan and strategize around all that you are passionate about and find purpose in?

📝 What commitment will you make and plan around how you are going to do this?

As my birthday approaches, ( October 19th 😜), I am reminded that work isn’t everything!

I’ll most likely spend the morning with my parents, a gift unto itself. After all, they brought me into this world and I consider myself lucky that they are still here to enjoy another trip around the sun with me. Later, I’ll head out for a peaceful and invigorating sunset cruise along the intracoastal waterway followed by a low-key dinner with my favorite guy. But, what I look forward to most on my birthdays is the opportunity to reflect on the past and appreciate what I’ve been able to create in my life and career. I can honestly say that I have everything I need and want at this very moment.

That’s right!

As I look to the year ahead, it’s important to remember that what is my past can't be erased, it can only be added to the wins and learns and experiences which naturally become part of what's next. I trust that like past birthdays, this one will be exactly what I need it to be. I’ll continue to move into this next year with attention to my personal and professional growth to ensure that I continue to strive for the best possible version of me.

Whether it’s your birthday too, or you are simply ready to dive deeper like me and create a business and life that brings you both small and BIG wins, consider the type of support that would help you become the best version of yourself.
